Welcome to Dove House Residential Home, Ashbourne

Dove House is a twenty bed residential home for the elderly, situated close to the centre of the historic market town of Ashbourne. The home is family owned and run.

We employ 26 full and part time staff, led by Manager Juliet, and Deputy Manager Sarah. We are proud of our staff to resident ratios.

Our aim is to provide a homely, caring environment, enabling residents to live to the optimum of their abilities. The focus of our care is heavily 'resident centred'. Activities are tailored to support the needs and abilities of each of our residents and include trips out, visiting entertainment and internally organised events and activities.

Bedrooms are fully furnished but residents are encouraged to bring in furniture and pictures and rooms can be rearranged where possible to suite the preferences of residents. Whilst residents are encouraged to engage in the social life of the home, they have full choice where to spend their time, to have meals and set their own routines.

Dove House occupies a beautiful Grade 2 star listed building, built around 1700 as the Dower House for the Boothby Family at Ashbourne Hall. It has been extended and extensively refurbished to provide high quality en-suite bedrooms and communal spaces. The Home has three cosy lounges with period features and a large Victorian Dining room which allows residents choice in social activities. Dove House sits in half an acre of gardens and a key feature is the access provided to residents to enjoy the outdoor spaces.
